I am a security analyst and modeller. I currently focus on collective behaviour. In practice, that means I worry a lot about insurgencies, social unrest and public mobilisation, and how information flows influence political and strategic outcomes. I am also given to navel-gazing; newer methods of analytical tradecraft and forecasting interest me a lot.

Much of my past work has revolved around India’s defence and foreign policies, as well as other aspects of Asian geopolitics. I have also researched mathematical problems in high-energy physics, economic policy, and technology.
